Description

The Baker's Wife is a cross stitch chart by Mirabilia Designs (Nora Corbett). As Nora Corbett states "Not all that is sweet is good. The same can be said of the unassuming wife of the palace baker. But when luxury becomes intoxicating, the only way to have fun is to swap the sugar for salt and watch as the faces of the dukes turn from pompous to sour. This trickster lives among courtyards and cloisters, but always as the handmaiden or the seamstress. Always, that is, until she dons the disguise of the mysterious Duchess of Rouen." Model was stitched on 32ct Amber Linen from Wichelt Imports using DMC floss, Caron Waterlilies (silk thread), Kreinik #4 Braids, and Mill Hill Beads. Stitch count: 152 x 201 (9.5 x 12.6 inches on this fabric stitched over two threads).
